The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has issued a wanted bulletin for 40-year-old David Sing, a driver of Eccles New Scheme, East Bank Demerara (EBD) in relation to a $2.6 million firearm licence fraud.
In a statement, police said the crime was committed against two brothers, a 35-year-old contractor and a 30-year-old operator, both of Best Plantation, West Coast Demerara.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims were allegedly approached by the Eccles resident, who reportedly claimed that he could assist them in obtaining firearm licences.
During the process, the victims allegedly paid a total of $2,610,000 and later received documents purporting to be firearm licence approvals. The documents were subsequently examined and found to be fraudulent.
The matter was reported to the Police on Monday. Efforts are being made to locate the suspect and another person connected to the matter as investigations continue.
