The family and friends of an elderly man are in shock and at a loss as to why he committed suicide today.
Reports are that the man who is in his 50s and resided in the Eccles village, consumed a quantity of poisonous substance sometime today and succumbed moments after.
According to a distant relative of the deceased, the man was having personal problems and it is believed that this may have led him to take his own life.
