East Ruimveldt resident accused of stealing truck batteries

Forty – year – old Ricardo Fernandes of East Ruimveldt Housing Scheme appeared before Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty and pleaded not guilty to the offense of Simple Larceny.

According to the allegations, on July 13 in Georgetown he stole two truck batteries valued at $64,000 property of Josh Charles. The accused in his defense told the court that he did not commit the offence and that he was severely beaten by the virtual complainant.

He was granted $50,000 bail and is to return to court on July 31. [Royan Abrams]
