Demerara Harbour Bridge to be closed to vehicular traffic for six hours next weekend

The Demerara Harbour Bridge which opened in July 1978 with the expectation of lasting only 10 years, has been floating for 38 years

The Management of the Demerara Harbour Bridge Corporation has announced that the bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic for a period of six hours at the next weekend.

The closure will begin on Saturday, July 25 from 22:00hrs (10pm) to Sunday, July 26 at 04:00hrs (4am).

This is to facilitate scheduled maintenance works.
