The Attorney General’s Chambers and Ministry of Legal Affairs in collaboration with the Deeds and Commercial Registries Authority (DCRA) today launched the services of the latter entity in Linden.
For the first time, residents of Region 10 would be able to access the crucial various services of the DCRA in their Region, more specifically, in the township of Linden.
This constitutes the delivery of another promise of President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali who pledged to have the DCRA establish offices in all the outlying regions of Guyana.
An office space has already been identified from which the DCRA will operate at a very convenient location within the township, making its services easily accessible to potential users. It was also announced that advertisements will soon be published inviting persons from Region 10 to apply for posts in the new office.
Residents who were present expressed their high praises and deep gratitude for this initiative.
In brief remarks, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Anil Nandlall outlined the main functions of the DCRA and explained the multiple services that it will offer to the people of Region 10 thereby obviating the need for them to travel at great expenses and inconveniences to Georgetown to access these services.
“One of the core objectives of our Government is to extend all services available in the urban centres of Guyana to every region of the country in order to make the lives of our citizens better wheresoever they are located,” the Attorney General said.
Today’s delegation, headed by the Attorney General, included the Registrars of Deeds and Commerce and staff of the DCRA along with the staff from the Attorney General’s Chambers & Ministry of Legal Affairs and the Office of the Public Trustee. Also in attendance was former APNU Member of Parliament , Jermaine Figueria, who offered brief remarks.
