Decomposed bodies of Brazilian Nationals found in Region 7

crime[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Police are investigating the death of two Brazilian Nationals, whose decomposed remains were found at Aramau Backdam, Cuyuni River in Region 7.

According to a police report, the bodies were discovered at approximately 14:30 hrs on Sunday September 20, 2015 in a swamp. The men have been identified as Jose Carlos Barbosa Araujo, 45 years, and Adonias Ferreira, 37 years.

The bodies are at the Bartica Hospital Mortuary and the police are awaiting the results of the Post Mortem Examination (PME) as the investigations continue.

  1. Does our Immigration authorities/ police have a record of all foreign ”visitors” to our Hinterland Regions ? Is their an existing policy /program to verify that their ”papers” are in order ?
