Declaration that Election Day a Holiday is fake

Election Day on March 2, 2020 has not been declared a national holiday.

INews understands that a document circulating on social media purporting to be a declaration signed by Public Security Minister Khemraj Ramjattan is fake.

The Ministry of Public Security’s Public Relations Officer said  “the current circulated gazatte of March 2 being declared a national holiday has not been issued by the Hon. Minister of Public Security, kindly note, it’s fake. Regards.”
