See full statement from the Guyana Police Force:

Three Cuban nationals, Alejandro Igalza Rios called “Papote”, 26, a barber; Juan Pablo Ferrer Perez, 29, a construction worker, and Mairely Felicita Medinas Alvarez, 24, a labourer, all of Timehri, East Bank Demerara, have been jointly charged with Murder, contrary to Common Law.

The trio were arrested on July 29 and July 30, 2026, in relation to the murder of Yudivian Cardenas Amador Almagro, which occurred on July 22, 2026, at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.

All three accused appeared today, Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate D. Bess, where the indictable charge was read to them.

They were not required to plead and were subsequently remanded to prison.

This matter was adjourned to September 21, 2026.
