The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Schoolyard programme got underway on Monday with the first two coaching sessions held at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia and Sabina Park in Jamaica.
Nearly 100 children attended across the two venues, taking part in cricket coaching sessions led by players from the home CPL franchises. In Saint Lucia, young participants trained alongside players from the Saint Lucia Kings, while in Jamaica the session was led by players from the Jamaica Kingsmen.
Each child who attended received a CPL Schoolyard book bag, packed with branded back to school supplies, ensuring they are equipped and ready as the new school term gets underway across the Caribbean next month.

CPL Schoolyard is about more than cricket, it is about giving back to the communities that make this league what it is, and sending these children into the new school year with everything they need to succeed.”
The CPL Schoolyard programme forms part of the league’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, giving young cricket fans the opportunity to learn directly from the players they see representing their home franchises. As Republic Bank CPL continues to grow its footprint across the region, initiatives such as CPL Schoolyard reflect the league’s growing global appeal and its deep-rooted connection to the communities that make it one of the premier T20 leagues in the Caribbean.
Further CPL Schoolyard sessions will be held in Trinidad, Guyana and Barbados in the coming weeks.
