The Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Friday reported that it has seized a quantity of narcotics packaged in a deceptive, child friendly manner.
The packaging, designed to resemble a colourful candy or dessert wrapper, appears to be a deliberate attempt by traffickers to attract children and unsuspecting individuals.
CANU is warning the public, particularly parents, teachers, and guardians, to remain vigilant. The cartoon style graphics, and playful imagery used on these packages are intended to disguise the drugs as harmless treats.
The drug enforcement unit emphasizes that the contents of these packages are highly dangerous and can cause serious harm or even death if consumed.
CANU says it is committed to protecting citizens, especially children from the dangers posed by narcotics.
