Breaking: Another escapee, Cornelius Thomas, re-captured in South Sophia

Another one of the remaining five prison escapees was less than an hour ago apprehended by police in “C” Field South Sophia, Georgetown.

This was confirmed by Crime Chief, Wendell Blanhum today (Monday), who noted that the arrest was made at around 15:20hrs.

Cornelius Thomas, prior to his escape, was sent to prison on a murder charge. However, on July 9, 2017, he and four other hard core criminals escaped the Camp Street Prison after staging an attack on the correctional officers and setting the penitentiary alight.

Captured: Desmond James

On Friday last, another escapee, Desmond James was captured at Canal #1, West Bank Demerara.

Still being hunted are Mark Royden Durant, Uree Varswyck, Stafrei Hopkinson Alexander, and Cobena Sephens. They are reportedly travelling together.
