Police are currently investigating the alleged murder of Kido Lewis, a miner of Quataman Village, North Rupununi.
According to the information reaching Inews, Police have in their custody the dead man’s workmate, a Brazilian national, assisting with the investigation into the reported murder of Lewis, whose body-which bore multiple wounds- was discovered inside of a pit at Dukwari Backdam, Cuyuni River yesterday morning.
Police say that on Tuesday last, the suspect and the deceased were seen leaving their mining camp but only the suspect, Brazilian national, returned later that evening around 10:00hrs.
Yesterday, the General Manager and a group of workers made the discovery after they followed a trail of blood some distance away from the Mining Camp. The matter was reported and the suspect was arrested.
