According to the police, at about 11:00h today Wednesday August 21, the body of 19 – year – old Shevonne Anthony was recovered in the Barima River and is presently at the Port Kaituma Mortuary.
Shevonne Anthony was a passenger in a boat that struck a log in the Barima River yesterday.
Police stated that at about 15:30h yesterday, a boat ferrying passengers from Port Kaituma to Mabaruma struck a log in the Barima River, North West District, causing Anthony to fall overboard.
