[www.inewsguyana.com] – The body of the both Captain Kerry Persaud has been recovered from the Cuyuni River after his boat sank in the vicinity of Kamaira Range.
According to the Maritime Administration (MARAD) Persaud lost his life on Thursday, October 10 during a boat mishap. No other vessel was involved in this accident.
The Director General of MARAD Ms. Claudette Rogers has expressed her condolence to Persaud’s family. “Any loss of life at sea is a blow to us” she said
She is also reminding individuals to adhere to safe boating practices by wearing life jackets and observe the rules of the sea. The incident is currently under investigation.
