A man has lost his life after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a pig at Alness Village along the Corentyne Highway on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Daniel Gaindalall, 27, a labourer of Tain Village, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne).
Reports are that Gaindalall was on his way home after visiting relatives in Black Bush Polder when the accident occurred just before 17:00hrs.
According to the victim’s wife, Janet Naidoo, her husband was wearing a safety helmet at the time. However, due to the impact, it reportedly came off, thus resulting in him sustaining severe head injuries.
The couple had been together for eight years and have no children.
Gaindalall, a labourer who works in the rice industry was the eldest of three surviving siblings.
