Badminton trio off to PanAm Junior Individual Championships

A Guyanese trio, inclusive of two players and a coach, have jetted off to Guatemala for the XXXIII Yonex Panam Junior Individual Championships.

Mishka Beharry will compete in the Girls’ Under-19 singles while Ruel Rambiriche takes on the competition in the Boys’ Under-17singles. The duo will combine their efforts in the Under-19 Mixed Doubles category. The players will be accompanied by senior athlete/coach Priyanna Ramdhani.

In excess of 400 athletes from 17 countries across the world are billed to participate in the competition. The tournament will have competition ranging from U13 to U19, with the U19 division being an international event for ranking points.

The Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) have expressed their gratitude to the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport for making the athletes’/coach’s travels a possibility.
