0

A plane which was transporting twelve passengers and cargo this morning suffered a blowout upon landing at the Port Kaituma Airstrip in Region One (Barima-Waini).

The plane belongs to Air Services Limited (ASL).

Police said at around 08:20hrs, when the aircraft made contact with the airstrip upon landing, the right-side tyre was punctured, resulting in a complete stop of the plane.

The Captain along with police officers examined the plane where it was confirmed that the tyre was punctured.

Public-spirited citizens, with instructions from the Plane’s captain, pushed the aircraft to the left corner of the runway where it is expected that the plane will be fixed.

Meanwhile, no injuries nor any further damage to the aircraft have been reported.

Investigations are ongoing.
