Agricola resident remanded for Robbery

Colwin DavidTwenty – four – year old Colwin David of 34 Public Road Agricola, East Bank Demerara appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry to answer to three counts of robbery under arms.

According to the police prosecutor, on July 4 at Cross Street Mc Doom, David, armed with an ice pick, he attacked and robbed three persons of cellular phones and other articles.

The prosecutor further objected to bail on the grounds that the accused was previously convicted for a crime of similar nature. The Prosecutor also noted the seriousness of the offence and the fact that the items were found on his person.

The Chief Magistrate refused bail and Colwin David is to return to court on July 19. [Royan Abrams]
