Attorney General Anil Nandlall meeting with the RSS Delegation at his office

Attorney General and Legal Affairs Minister Anil Nandlall, S.C., on Friday met with a team from the Regional Security System (RSS) that is in Guyana to strengthen cooperation with stakeholders here.

The RSS Delegation visited the Attorney General’s Chambers & Ministry of Legal Affairs in Georgetown. The team included Ms. Rhea Reid-Bowen, Director of International Affairs and Strategic Services; Mr. Richmark Deane, Manager of the Digital Forensics Lab; Ms. Kisha Suntherland, Director of the Asset Recovery Unit; Ms. Amy Gasper Nogueras, Program Assistant with the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) Section; and Ms. Alana Bunbury-Walton, INL Program Specialist.

The RSS visited Guyana this week to deepen regional security cooperation and strengthen training opportunities with local law enforcement agencies and the United States. The U.S. Embassy and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) funded the RSS visit under the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative.

The United States, RSS, and Guyana continue to strengthen regional ties, deepen training and operational partnerships, and assess future collaboration to better combat transnational crime, improve public safety, and develop more accountable institutions.

Earlier this week, U.S. Embassy in Georgetown said it was pleased to support the RSS visit long with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).

In brief remarks, Deputy Chief of Mission Adrienne Galanek underscored the ongoing partnership between the United States, RSS, and GPF to counter transnational crime, improve public safety, and strengthen law enforcement capabilities.
