8lbs of marijuana found in suitcase shipped from Florida

Detectives, acting on intelligence, went to BAC Couriers Shipping Company, located on D’Urban Street, Georgetown, where a search was conducted on a brown cardboard box shipped by a Shamar Fraser from Florida to someone named Shequan Simon of Lamaha Park, Georgetown.

During the search, conducted at around 16:30hrs on Thursday, the police found an orange suitcase inside the box. The suitcase was opened, and inside were eight compressed parcels with leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.

The suitcase with the suspected cannabis was taken to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters, where it was processed, photographed and weighed, amounting to 8lbs.

Investigations are ongoing.
