Approximately 75 per cent of issues reported by citizens through the Citizens Connect App have been resolved since the platform’s launch in March, highlighting a major achievement in the government’s drive to improve public service delivery.
This is according to the Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, Zulfikar Ally, who highlighted the initiative’s success during an interview with the Department of Public Information (DPI) on Monday.

Minister Ally reminded that the app represents the responsive and efficient type of government service, envisioned by President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali, allowing citizens to report concerns as they arise and enabling government agencies to respond on time.
“I will always speak about the Citizens Connect App…because it really is what President Ali wants to see of government, which is responding in real time to the issues and the concerns of the citizens of Guyana,” Minister Ally stated.
Since its launch, the platform has recorded 1,883 issues, ranging from community concerns to matters citizens would like addressed.
Of those reports, 1,423, approximately 75 per cent, have been fully resolved to date, the minister confirmed.
The minister explained that the reports submitted through the app are not necessarily complaints but also provide citizens with an opportunity to bring potential problems to the attention of government agencies.
“Some of them are not really complaints, but many of them are things that people would like to see done…things that people now have the opportunity to report quickly as they see it happening,” he explained.
Moreover, the Citizens Connect App allows citizens to report community and government-related concerns directly from their mobile devices. Those users can upload photographs and geolocation details to accurately identify issues and track the progress of their reports through a built-in feedback system.
The minister noted that the government’s objective is to resolve issues within 24 hours wherever possible.
“The objective is to resolve it within 24 hours. So…we have done many within that 24 hours,” he said.

However, Minister Ally explained that some matters require coordination among several government agencies and stakeholders, particularly issues involving local government authorities, Neighbourhood Democratic Councils (NDCs), the Ministry of Public Works and Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI).
“Once the issue is put there, we work on it nonstop until it is resolved,” the minister emphasised.
Many of the reports received through the platform have been directed to the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development due to the nature of the concerns raised.
To ensure timely responses, teams have been assigned within every ministry and government agency to engage directly with citizens and provide updates on the status of their reports.
Once submitted, reports are reviewed by the Ministry of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation before being forwarded to the relevant agency for action.
The Citizens Connect App forms part of the government’s wider digital transformation agenda, aimed at making public services more convenient, transparent and accessible while strengthening the connection between citizens and government institutions.
