67-Y-O charged with stealing comforter

Sixty-seven-year-old Patrick Thomas accepted the allegation which was read to him by Magistrate Alex Moore in Court Ten of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The charge of simple larceny read that on December 8 at Bissoon Trading, King Street, Georgetown, he stole one comforter set valued $17,000, property of the Virtual Complainant (VC) , Bissoon Singh Dyal.

The facts of the charge were not divulged in Court; however it was revealed that the stolen items were recovered. The accused was sentenced to serve 60 hours of community service by the Magistrate before March 12, 2016.

He will perform the community service under the supervision of the Georgetown Prison Service and failure to do so will result in a prison sentence. He is expected to return to court on March 14, for report.
