50 – year – old charged with cocaine, marijuana possession

Fifty – year – old John Beaton of 55 Albouy Street, Albouystown Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan charged with possession of narcotics, both cocaine and marijuana.

Beaton pleaded guilty to the possession of marijuana and not guilty to the possession of cocaine charge. The court heard that on August 10 in Albouystown, the accused had 7 grams of marijuana and half a gram of cocaine on his possession.

Beaton was fined $10,000 and sentenced to 12 months jail time for possession of marijuana. He will however reappear in court on September 11 for the continuation of the matter regarding the cocaine charge. [Royan Abrams]
