A resident of Ituni Village, Upper Berbice River was granted $150,000 bail in connection with the alleged rape of his 13-year-old stepdaughter.
The 48-year-old man made an appearance before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
It is alleged that on July 23, 2016, the accused engaged in sexual intercourse with the teen who lives in the same house with him. On Wednesday, the court ordered the accused to stay 100 feet away from the minor and to report to the Mackenzie Police Station once a week as a condition of bail.
The case will continue on November 22.
