Three men were today remanded to prison for inciting public terror along the Corentyne.
They are Nelson Bristol, 26, a labourer of Kildonan Village Corentyne, Berbice; Quel Lyte, 18, a labourer of Nurney Village Corentyne, Berbice; and Emmanuel Davis, 20, a labourer of Limlair Village Corentyne, Berbice.
They were arrested on Tuesday and charged today with Acts of Terrorism which occurred on at the Kildonan Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice.
The charge was laid under section 309 (A) (1) (b) (ii) of the Criminal Law (offences) Act chapter 8:01, of the Laws of Guyana.
The three accused appeared at Number 51 Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Miss Tuana Hardy, where they were not required to plead.
Bail was refused and they were remanded to prison until May 21. The matter was transferred to the Whim Magistrate’s Court.
