Police in Regional Division #3 (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) are investigating the discovery of 101.9 grams of suspected cannabis which was found on Saturday, September 12, 2026, during an operation at the Pouderoyen Tarmac, West Bank Demerara.
During the operation, ranks contacted a 20-year-old construction worker of Phoenix Park, West Bank Demerara, at a stall on the Tarmac.
A search was conducted at the stall in the presence of the 20-year-old, during which ranks found a black plastic bag containing 59 small transparent zip-lock bags, each containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The 20-year-old was arrested and escorted to the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station along with the suspected cannabis, which was weighed in his presence and amounted to 101.9 grams.
The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
