Two persons are suspected to have died following a two-vehicle collision today at Loo Creek, Linden/Soesdyke Highway.
While information regarding the accident remains sketchy, this publication understands that it involved a motor lorry and a motor canter.
At the time of the collision, the feed-laden canter was heading to Linden while the truck was proceeding in the opposite direction.
Eyewitness say that the motor lorry, which was travelling at a fast rate, was in the process of overtaking a motorcar when it ended up in the path of the canter.
As a result of the collision, the canter toppled several times before coming to halt after which it exploded. The driver reportedly managed to escaped the blaze but his wife was trapped in the burning vehicle.
Another man, suspected to be driver of the motor lorry, was seen lying on the roadway with one of his legs severed. Persons at the scene stated that his wife was also trapped in the burning truck which exploded after the collision.
