2 farmers fatally stabbed at North Pakaraimas; police hunting for suspect

Police in Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni) are on the hunt for a male suspect who escaped after stabbing two indigenous farmers to death during a drunken row.

Dead are Clifton Thomas, a 34-year-old farmer, and Sylvester Thomas, a 20-year-old farmer, both of Micopara Settlement, Tuseneng Village, North Pakarimas.

The incident occurred on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Tuseneng Creek.

Police have identifed the suspect as Kendel Joseph, called ‘James’, a male Amerindian (age and other particulars unknown).

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased men and the suspect were imbibing when an argument ensued. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly stabbed both victims, inflicting injuries that resulted in their deaths. He then made good his escape.

The police is urging persons who see the suspect or know where he is to contact the nearest police station immediately

Investigations are continuing.
