17-year-old charged with illegal possession of firearm

A 17-year-old was today (Tuesday) slapped with an illegal possession charge when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

court 1Adam Mohamed is accused of having an illegal .22 pistol in his possession on March 12 at East La Penitence, Georgetown. It was alleged that Police stopped and searched Mohamed during which the gun was unearthed.

In court today, the prosecutor objected to bail and his objections were upheld. The teen was remanded to prison until April 25 when the matter will be called again.
