Minister of Education Sonia Parag today conducted a visit to the construction site of the $1.3 billion Nismes Secondary School on the West Bank of Demerara (WBD).
There, she has issued a stern warning that all works must be completed December.
On November 7, 2024, the sod was turned for the construction of the school, which is intended to serve 800 students.
The construction work was divided into five lots.
ECS Construction & General Supplies was awarded Lot 1, with a contract sum of G$237,050,110, and Lot 2, valued at G$237,427,608. Both were scheduled to be completed in eight months.
JK Enterprise Inc. was awarded Lot 3, valued at G$392,372,526, also with an eight-month timeline.
Mason’s Innovative Construction was awarded Lot 4, valued at G$154,448,800, with a three-month schedule.
R&R General Construction & Supplies was awarded Lot 5, valued at G$314,867,740, with an eight-month completion timeline.
