Police are investigating an alleged murder which occurred on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 about 15:00hrs at Half Mile Public Road, Wismar, Linden, resulting in the death of Amar Jones, 27, a Driver of One Mile, Wismar, Linden.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was travelling in a motor canter along Half Mile Public Road when he was approached by a motor car from which an unidentified male exited and discharged several rounds in his direction before re-entering the vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Upon arrival at the scene, police ranks observed the victim motionless in the driver’s seat of the motor canter. He was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty. The body was later taken to G-Jetsco Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination.
A 24-year-old female of Amelia’s Ward, Linden was arrested and is presently in custody assisting with the investigation. A motor vehicle was also seized and is being processed as part of the investigation.
Investigations continue.
