Police in Regional Division #2 are investigating an alleged murder committed on Nicholas Fredericks, a 25-year-old Gold Miner of Wakapau, Lower Pomeroon River which occurred on Monday December 29, 2025 about 02:30hrs at Wakapau Village.
Enquiries disclosed that the deceased was at an event earlier that night within the community when an altercation reportedly occurred. Shortly after, he was discovered lying on the ground with what appears multiple stab wounds. He was taken to the Wakapau Health Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty.
The body was escorted to the Suddie Public Hospital Mortuary where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
An 18-year-old Gold Miner was arrested and is currently in custody assisting with the investigation.
Investigations are ongoing.
