Police constable accidentally shot by colleague in Linden

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Police constable was accidentally shot, by his colleague while they were attempting to make an arrest.

A police media release stated that Nathaniel Giddings was shot and injured to his left shoulder. The incident took place at about 05:40 on Sunday May 03, at Green heart Street, Linden.

So far investigations have revealed that the two police ranks, one of whom was armed with a service revolver, were making efforts to arrest two suspects in a larceny from the person matter when Constable Giddings was shot.

Giddings has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital for medical treatment.

The two suspects were arrested and are in police custody.
