Three suspects have been arrested following the discovery of more than 24 pounds of cocaine at Mora Village, Parika, East Bank Essequibo.
The discovery was made on Friday evening by officers attached to the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU).

According to CANU, the officers, acting on information received, conducted an operation in the vicinity of Mora Village, Parika, where they intercepted three males, one of whom was carrying a haversack.
A subsequent search of the haversack revealed three (3) brick-like parcels suspected to be cocaine.
The three males – Jared Kellawan, Jahdiel Kellawan and David Newsum – were arrested and escorted to the residence of Jared Kellawan, where CANU officers discovered an additional seven (7) brick-like parcels suspected to be cocaine.
The suspects were then taken to CANU Headquarters along with the suspected narcotics, which weighed a total of 10.966 kilograms (24.176 pounds).
CANU said further investigations are ongoing.
