[www.inewsguyana.com] – The body of the man who was reported missing following the boat collision in the Lower Pomeroon River on February 17 has been recovered.
According to police reports, the body was found at about 13:00hrs on Wednesday, February 19 at Aberdeen, Lower Pomeroon. He has been identified as 23 – year – old Ronald Newyear of Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara.
Earlier reports by police had identified the missing man as “Blacker” of Grant Phoenix Park, Lower Pomeroon. He drowned when two boats collided in the Lower Pomeroon River.
One of the two boat captains is in police custody assisting with the investigations. The other captain fled the scene.
