The Rotary Club of Stabroek, in collaboration with Woodlands Hospital and BROCODE, will host a Men’s Wellness Symposium on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 aimed at advancing men’s health, emotional well-being, and social responsibility in Guyana.

The symposium to be held at Herdmanston Lodge, Queenstown, is an invite-only forum for professionals, advocates, and community leaders committed to building a stronger, healthier Guyana.

Under the theme “Stronger Men, Stronger Families, Stronger Guyana,” the symposium will bring together medical experts, policymakers, survivors, and civil society voices to address critical issues affecting men—from reproductive health and mental wellness to domestic violence and community leadership.

The symposium will feature a robust programme focused on advancing men’s health, emotional resilience, and social responsibility. Highlights include remarks by Social Security Minister, Dr. Vindhya Persaud, followed by plenary sessions on reproductive and preventive care led by Dr. Chris Prashad, coping with stress, anxiety, and depression presented by Dr. Griffith, and a focused discussion on domestic violence in Guyana facilitated by Kobe Smith.

The event also includes a virtual testimonial from prostate cancer survivor Jeremy Simmons, breakout workshops for small group dialogue, and a closing rally titled “Brotherhood in Action” led by BROCODE’s Andrew Douglas.

Attendees will benefit from health screenings, networking opportunities, and interactive group presentations. The event will also feature pre- and post-health screenings, partner booths, and a wrap-up session to capture key insights and commitments.

“This is more than a health event—it’s a movement,” President of the Rotary Club of Stabroek, Dr. Karen Gordon-Boyle stated.

“We are creating a safe, structured space for men to reflect, connect, and commit to personal and societal transformation.”

The symposium is designed to foster early detection, mental health literacy, and community-based accountability. It aims to challenge stigma, promote empathy, and empower men to take proactive roles in their families and communities.
