Police investigators in Regional Division #7 are currently probing an alleged stabbing incident involving two brothers that left one dead and the other critically injured.
The incident occurred at Barakat Landing, Cuyuni River, on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
Inquiries revealed that the two brothers, who are employed as pork knockers in the area, became involved in a heated altercation with another male at the landing during the evening hours.
During the altercation, the suspect reportedly armed himself with a pair of scissors and dealt both brothers several stabs about their bodies. Following the attack, the suspect fled the scene and managed to make good his escape.
Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the suspect as investigations into the matter continue.
