The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development has taken note of a social media post stating that cases of water dumped at the Haags Bosch Landfill were later removed from the site for possible human consumption.
The Ministry treats this matter with the utmost seriousness, as the information suggests that multiple breaches of established protocols may have occurred.
As such, an immediate investigation will be launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
It should be noted that liquid waste is not accepted at the landfill site. Any waste requiring special destruction must receive prior approval before being brought to the site, and an official destruction date is scheduled to ensure the process is carried out under proper supervision.
The Ministry wishes to assure the public that any individuals found to have violated the required procedures will be held accountable. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
