Police in Regional Division # 4 ‘A’ are investigating an alleged wounding which occurred on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 about 06:45hrs at Dowding Street, Kitty, Georgetown, committed on a 55-year-old self-employed male of the said address.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim and the suspect, a male of Dowding Street, Kitty, Georgetown, have an ongoing dispute regarding building materials being left at the victim’s gate.

It is alleged that on the date and time mentioned, the victim was exiting his yard when he observed a load of sand dumped in front of his property. He approached the suspect and asked him to remove the sand, but the suspect refused and an argument ensued, which escalated into a physical altercation.

The suspect reportedly left the scene, returned with a sharp object and stabbed the victim once to his abdomen before making good his escape in an unknown direction.

The victim subsequently rode to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation Accident and Emergency Unit, where he was examined by a doctor on duty and admitted a patient. His condition is listed as critical, but stable.

CCTV cameras were observed and are presently being reviewed as part of the investigation.

Investigations are ongoing.
