[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) Company on Wednesday, April 29 made a presentation of $500,000 to the Charles Roza School of Nursing in Linden.
A press release from GT&T noted that the donation will go towards providing desks and other furnishings for the institution which serves as a training centre for students of Linden and other regions. It was founded in 1959 by Dr. Charles Roza to train health care providers in Region 10 to meet the needs of the communities.
Accoding to the release, Principal Tutor Mr. Hillary Christopher said the school continues to pride itself on the facilitation of high quality health care training.
“Mr. Christopher said the request for assistance came as a result of the institution’s determination to create a more conducive atmosphere for students and tutors in order to have greater output and will make a great impact inthe school realizing its mandate of ensuring the students offer their best service upon completion of their training,” the release noted.
Ms. Hackett said GT&T as a good corporate citizen recognizes the invaluable contribution of the institution and is therefore pleased to assist the school in its efforts.
