Fisherman accused of robbing woman in Fogarty’s Store

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Fisherman, Terrence Kishore of Alberttown, Georgetown was today charged with the offence of simple larceny before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

The man pleaded not guilty to the offence, which alleged that on Wednesday, December 18 at Georgetown, he stole $25,000 cash from Kamla Parmanand.

Police Prosecutor Bharat Mangru told the Court that on the day in question, the Virtual Complainant (VC) was shopping at Fogarty’s shopping, when the accused snatched her purse and ran away.

The Court heard that he was apprehended by public spirited citizens. The prosecutor indicated that the money was recovered. Bail was refused and the matter was put off until January 13.
