Twenty-four-year-old Shania Benjamin, a clerk of Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, was on Tuesday arraigned with the murder of Amar Jones, who was riddled with bullets on December 30, 2025, at Half Mile, Wismar, Linden.
Benjamin, the ex-girlfriend of the now-deceased man, virtually appeared before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool at the Linden Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to her.
She was not required to plead to the indictment and was remanded to prison until February 16, 2026.
Jones, 27, was shot and killed while driving a motor canter along Half Mile Public Road by a gunman who exited a motorcar and discharged several rounds in his direction before re-entering the car and fleeing the scene.
Jones was found motionless in the driver’s seat of his vehicle.
Following the shooting, Benjamin was taken into custody, and the car suspected to have been used in the execution was impounded.
