The People’s Progressive Party extends warm Easter greetings to all Guyanese, especially our brothers
and sisters within the Christian community.
Easter is one of the most sacred observances in Christianity, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus
Christ. It carries profound lessons of hope, renewal, humility, love, and respect for one another. This
season reminds us that even in the face of adversity, there is always the promise of a brighter tomorrow
through faith, perseverance, and unity.
Beyond its religious significance, Easter continues to be a unifying national celebration in Guyana. Families
and communities across the country come together in a spirit of joy and togetherness, upholding
cherished traditions such as kite flying, which symbolize freedom, hope, and aspiration.
As we celebrate, the Party encourages all citizens to practice safety, especially during outdoor activities,
to ensure a joyful and incident-free holiday.
May this Easter inspire renewed faith, strengthen our bonds as a people, and guide us toward continued
progress and harmony.

The Guyana Trades Union Congress (GTUC) extends warm Easter greetings to workers and their families across Guyana and the diaspora.
Easter is not merely a religious observance—it is a profound reminder of sacrifice, justice, renewal, and the triumph of righteousness over oppression. It speaks to the enduring truth that even in the face of suffering and injustice, there remains hope for redemption and the possibility of a better, more just society.
For the working people of Guyana, this message carries deep significance. The life and teachings of Jesus Christ remind us of the value of dignity, equality, compassion, and standing firm against injustice. These are the same principles that underpin the trade union movement—principles rooted in the struggle for fair treatment, respect, and the protection of workers’ rights.
At this time, we must reflect not only on the spiritual meaning of Easter, but also on the realities confronting our nation. Too many workers continue to face economic hardship, rising cost of living, job insecurity, and unequal access to opportunities. Poverty persists in our communities, and too often, the voices of ordinary citizens are marginalised.
Easter calls on us to confront these realities with courage. It demands that we recommit to building a society where justice is not selective, where governance is accountable, and where every worker is valued—not exploited. It reminds us that silence in the face of wrongdoing is not an option, and that collective action remains essential in advancing the rights and welfare of all.
The GTUC urges all Guyanese to embrace the true spirit of Easter by promoting unity over division, fairness over favouritism, and service over self-interest. Let us reject discrimination in all its forms and work together to ensure that our nation reflects the ideals of equality and respect enshrined in our Constitution and international commitments.
