Georgetown, Guyana – 5th April, 2025 – Mr. Ramesh Ghir, Chief Executive Officer of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), recently attended the high-level GAD (Global Aviation Development), the CAPA (Centre for Aviation) Conference, and the ACI-LAC (Airports Council International – Latin America and Caribbean) Executive Board Meeting in the Cayman Islands. His participation underscored Guyana’s commitment to the advancement of its aviation sector and its growing prominence within the regional and global aviation landscape.
During the GAD Conference, Mr. Ghir served as a panelist in a discussion focused on “Strategic Insights and Perspectives on Airport Development in the Americas.” In this forum, he provided a comprehensive overview of the extensive development works currently underway within Guyana’s transport sector. He placed particular emphasis on the significant advancements and strategic initiatives being implemented within the aviation industry to modernize infrastructure, enhance operational efficiency, and improve the overall passenger experience at the various ports of entry.
Mr. Ghir also highlighted the substantial and increasing investments being made in Guyana’s tourism and hospitality sectors, recognizing the crucial role of air connectivity in facilitating growth in these areas.
