Ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Thursday seized more than 339lbs of marijuana during an operation at a livestock ranch located at Tree Pole Backdam, Corentyne, Berbice.

According to CANU, officers acted on intelligence received and proceeded to the location, where a search of the premises was conducted.

During the operation, a wooden structure on the property was found to contain seven large parcels of cannabis. The suspected narcotics were subsequently transported to CANU’s Skeldon office, where they were weighed and confirmed to total 339lbs (154 kilograms).

No arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.
