The Office of the Leader of the Opposition has been allocated $34.6 million in the 2026 national budget.
The disclosure was made on Monday by Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance, Gail Teixeira, during the consideration of the budget estimates.
The allocation forms part of the broader funding for the Parliament Office.
The main opposition political party, We Invest in Nationhood (WIN), has not yet identified a location for their office.
The funding represents an increase from the $32.5 million that was budgeted for the Leader of the Opposition Office in 2025 and 2024, when the Peoples National Congress Reform (PNC/R) formed the main parliamentary opposition.
During those periods, the office was located on Regent Street, Georgetown, but it was often closed to the public.
