Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle incident which occurred on Thursday January 1, 2026 about 07:00hrs on the Coldingen Public Road, East Coast Demerara, involving motorcycle CN 8252 driven by 21-year-old Brandon Thomas, a Construction Worker of Melanie, East Coast Demerara.
Preliminary investigations disclosed that the motorcycle was proceeding east along the northern driving lane allegedly at a fast rate of speed when the rider reportedly lost control and fell onto the roadway, receiving injuries about his body. He was picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken in an unconscious state to the Enmore Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty.
The body was escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
CCTV cameras were observed and will be reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
Investigations continue.
