[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Police in ‘C’ Division have taken a female prison officer of the Lusignan Prison into custody after she was caught with a quantity of marijuana last evening [Thursday, August 07]
iNews was reliably informed that the woman was caught her supervisor, who immediately informed security personnel at the Prisons and the police were called in.
iNews understands that she has been working with the Guyana Prison Service for more than ten years. Sources close to the prisons have already indicated that the woman’s action has caused her to lose everything she has worked for over the years.
Efforts made to contact recently confirmed Director of Prisons, Welton Trotz were futile. Over the years the management of the prisons and the Ministry of Home Affairs have been calling on prison officers to conduct themselves professionally when executing their functions at the prisons.
