[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Working Peoples Alliance (WPA) says it view with much concern the decision of President Donald Ramotar to appoint Former President Bharrat Jagdeo as the Head of the National Economic Council (NEC).
Ramotar in statement had named Jagdeo Chair of a newly-created NEC while stating that the former President will also be assisting in the crafting of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) manifesto and is also expected to join the campaign trail.
But the WPA says that the announcement signals the commencement of the “deception and double talk” that is to come from the Office of the President during the elections days.
“While WPA is not concerned with who writes the PPP manifesto, we say unapologetically that it is disrespect for the public to place the NEC in the hands of the same person,” the statement read.
