A 35-year-old woman was on Thursday remanded to prison when she appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on an attempted murder charge.
Cynthia McIntyre of North West District was not required to plead to the indicatable charge which stated that on April 17 2017, at Four Miles Arataca, North West District, with the intent to commit murder, she maliciously wounded her boyfriend, Ryan Roberts.
The court was told that on the day in question, the couple were involved in a heated argument which quickly escalated into a full blown fist fight. McIntyre is accused of breaking a bottle and stabbing Roberts to the chest.
According to the Prosecution, the victim is still being hospitalised and is presently fighting for his life as he suffered significant internal injuries due to the stabbing.
The Magistrate denied the bail application for the woman and the matter was transferred to the Matthew’s Ridge Court where McIntyre is expected to appear on May 19, 2017.
